Ground beef is a versatile ingredient that will delight your taste buds. This cheesey ground beef casserole is delicious and easy to make. It's one of my favorites.

  • (2 cups) Cooked Pasta
  • (1 cup) Shreded cheese
  • (1/2 cup) Shreeded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • Cook the Ground Beef:
    • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
    • Add diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onions are translucent.
  • Add Tomatoes and Seasonings:
    • Stir in the drained diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the ground beef mixture, stirring until everything is well combined.
  • Layer in the Casserole Dish:
    • Transfer the pasta and beef mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

    • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
    • Follow with a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake:
    • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is golden brown on top.
  • Serve:
    • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
    • Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley or basil if desired.
