Ground beef is a versatile ingredient that can be prepared in various ways. Here are of my favorites.
- Classic Hamburger Patties:
- Mix ground beef with seasonings like salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Form the seasoned ground beef into patties of desired size and thickness.
- Heat a grill, skillet, or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached.
- Serve on burger buns with your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, cheese, onions, and condiments.
- Spaghetti Bolognese:
- In a skillet or saucepan, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions, garlic, and carrots, and cook until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the Bolognese sauce over cooked spaghetti noodles, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil.
- Stuffed Bell Peppers:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes from the inside.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with diced onions, garlic, cooked rice, diced tomatoes, and your choice of seasonings until the beef is browned and the vegetables are softened.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the ground beef mixture and place them in a baking dish.
- Top each stuffed pepper with shredded cheese, if desired.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the peppers are tender.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve the stuffed peppers hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
