Come to the farm Wednesday-Saturday at 10 a.m., and 1 p.m., when Millie, our two-month-old Scottish Highlander calf, gets her bottle.

Miles Smith Farm, 56 Whitehouse Rd. Loudon, NH 03307, 603 783 5159.

After you feed her, Millie would love you to donate to the non-profit Learning Networks Foundation: "Compassion for Critters" is our mission.

Millie walks with Carole. Wait for it...will she come in the house?

All winter, my Scottish Highland and Belted Galloway cattle have grown magnificent, lanolin-rich coats — nature’s waterproofing so good it puts L.L. Bean to shame. Lanolin repels water and snow better than any slicker on the market. But these coats can’t be unzipped when the sunshine returns. That’s where the electric clippers come in.
