Trade the conference room for the pasture
Your team has done the trust falls, the escape rooms, and the ropes courses. Now give them something they'll actually talk about on Monday: a day on a working New Hampshire cattle farm, side by side with gentle Highland steers and newborn calves.
At Miles Smith Farm in Loudon, N.H., we host corporate retreats that get people out of their heads, off their phones, and working together in a setting that's calm, hands-on, and a little unexpected.
What your team will do
Meet Curious Bleu. Our big, shaggy Highland steer is famously gentle and loves a good hug. Even the most skeptical team member tends to melt.
Ride Bingo. Yes, a steer you can ride. It takes patience, clear communication, and a team cheering you on.
Bottle-feed newborn calves. Nothing quiets a busy mind like a hungry calf. It's a simple, shared moment your team won't forget.
[Optional: Learn to lead a steer. Moving a 1,000-pound animal isn't about force. It's about calm confidence, body language, and trust, the same skills that make people better leaders and teammates.]
Why cattle make great coaches
Animals don't care about job titles. They respond to how you show up: your energy, your focus, your consistency. Working with cattle gives your team instant, honest feedback and a shared experience that carries back to the office. Guided by Carole Soule, the Cow Coach, each activity connects what happens in the barnyard to how your team communicates, leads, and solves problems together.
