This provides about 4 servings.
1 package Miles Smith Farm Sweet Italian sausages, sliced
2 tablespoon sesame oil
1 head of broccoli, chopped
2 stalks of celery, chopped
4 carrots, chopped
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 cup dry rice
2 cups water
For the sauce:
½ cup cider vinegar
½ cup honey
1 cup water (reserve ¼ cup)
¼ cup Tamari or soy sauce
1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger or 2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp arrowroot powder (or cornstarch)
Combine rice and 1 cups water in covered pan. Bring to boil, then reduce to simmer until water is absorbed, about 30-40 minutes.
While rice is cooking, saute chopped vegetable in sesame oil until just tender. Remove from pan.
Add sliced sausages and sesame oil to pan and saute just until some pink remains.
While sausages are cooking, combine cider vinegar, honey ¾ cup water, tamari and ginger. Bring to a simmer. Reduce slightly while sausages are cooking. When sausage are done, whisk reserved ¼ water with arrowroot powder. Add to pan
