Kale Chips

Wed, 2016-12-28 14:23 -- tmdowney

A scumptous, healthy snack!

1 bunch kale
2-3 TBSP Sesame Oil
2-3 TBSP Tamari
1 tsp powdered ginger
1 tsp garlic powder
2-3 tsp sesame seeds

Clean kale and devein so that only leaf is left. Rip leaves into small bite size pieces and place in large bowl.

Mix sesame oil, tamari, ginger and garlic powders.  Whip together and pour over kale pieces.  Rub kale pieces with your hand and work in the sauce.   There should not be any liquid left so don't add too much.  When all the kale is shiny and coated, spreat out in a tray and place into dehydrator at 95 degrees until crisp. About 6-8 hours. Once dry, store in an airtight container if there is any left!

If your oven can be set low you can dehyrated in your oven as well.  Your wood stove might work also. Just keep the tray up off the wood stove and check often so that it doesn't burn.

Is this a missing ingredient, or do you mean "de-vein" (as in "remove the veins")?
