Healthy homemade beef broth
2 Cross-Cut Shanks (bone with meat)
2 soup bones (knuckle or marrow)
Or any combination
Place in slow cooker and cover with water.
1 large chopped onion, in large chunks,
1 carrot, chopped in 1 inch chunks
2 stocks celery or dried celery
2 bay leaves
2 tablespoons of dried parsley
1 tsp basil
Salt and pepper
Cook on low for 24 hours, adding water as needed.
Remove meat from bones and add to your favorite recipe or turn the whole batch into beef soup.
Strain the liquid for broth.
