BEEF: We carry four lines of beef at our year-round Farm Store.

Grass Fed Angus Cross: is our post popular line of beef. This beef is raised in New Hampshire. We have over 200 acres of leased pasture land that we 'taxi' the cattle too during the growing season.  When the freeze comes in the fall and grass is not readily available, feed hayledge, (a fermented hay) is fed out. It is benefical for the cattle and supports them well during the cold winter months.   This grass fed beef is raised by us, along with several other farmers that follow our Quality and Welfare Standards.  We never use systematic antibiotics or growth hormones. We have been known to add in some apples, pumpkins and molasses though!

Grass Fed Highlander: Scottish Highlander cattle are a fantastic breed that keep their insulation on the outside in the form of long hair. Because they need less fat to keep them warm (due to the hair), the beef is very lean. We think that is also the cause of the intense beef flavor that is truly amazing. These majestic animals ride along in the taxi with the Angus to the remote pastures throughout southern New Hampshire eating wonderful grasses. They are especially excited when they get to visit the orchard pasture in the fall.  (So are we!).

Grain Finished Angus:  this line of beef is raised in New Hamphire, by a farmer that knows how to raise some fantastic beef!  These animals, although solely grass fed most of their lives. while still having free access to hay, they are supplemented with 3-4 lbs of grain daily when they 12-15 months old. This creates a marbling to the beef as well as a tenderness.

Grain Finished Scottish Highlander:  This line is a limited available beef. Raised in New Hampshire. Grain finishing highlander helps give a marbling to the very lean beef and creates a more tender cut of meat, while maintaining the great flavor of highlander and retaining some of the health benefits reported with Highlander Beef.
SOLD by the retail cut. Only available periodically.

PORK: We carry two lines of Pork at the store.

Heritage, Pastured Pork: We raise several heritage breed pigs on the farm.  Tamworth, Berkshire, Large Black, Hamshire and some others too! Most of our pigs are crossed with one type of heritage breed or another.  They have pasture to roam and do what pigs do - dig things up and find yummy morsels to snack on.  We do feed our pigs grain, as all pigs need the grain to be healthy and grow.

Traditional: This is standard market breed pig.  They are raised here in New Hampshire. They roam freely inside a well kept barn. They are fed grain as all pigs need grain to thrive.

LAMB: We carry locally raised Lamb!

We carry lamb raised in the town of Chichester, (next town east), by a long-time sheep farmer. He raises award winning lambs and sheep. These lambs are fed a high quality hay and 16% Shepard's grain which keeps the meat sweet and juicy.
